I am sure there are many of you out there who always dreamed of planning your wedding with your mom - the dress shopping, the cake tasting, and dancing the night away together in celebration of your new marriage. But for me, that dream was crushed when I was a sophomore in college. And as my wedding day approached, it was harder than I had imagined. I almost didn't want to have a wedding day at all without my mommy there with me.
So for those of you who are in the same boat as I was, whether it is a sister, a best friend, a grandparent, aunt or brother, I can't offer you a solution to the pain. But I can offer you how I got through that difficult time and hope that it resonates with you as well.
