It's Not About the Weight

With our re-launch completed and new articles on many area of the bridal lifestyle coming soon, it really got me thinking about the message I am trying to get out there about health and fitness and why I have added those categories to the blog. So today, I am going to set the records straight and tell you exactly why we are promoting these four main categories of the bridal lifestyle: weddings, marriage, recipes, and fitness.

A very common term throughout the wedding industry: #sheddingforthewedding

There are companies out there that even create workout apparel for the bride, in order to encourage fitness. And as you know, we LOVE all of it!  We've even promoted some (with more to come) in our Bridal Boutique Shop! I don't know about you, but when I get a new item of workout apparel, I want to get in the gym every day for the next week, just to wear my new item! Am I right or am I right?

But for some reason, #sheddingforthewedding really gets to me. Yes, I know. I've used it before on Instagram but for some reason, it just never feels right.

What do you think about this...?

#SheddingForLife #SheddingForLove #SheddingForHim #SheddingForHealth #SheddingForHappiness

I could go on and on with hashtags that I love far more than #sheddingforthewedding, but I digress.

And that brings me to my main point...

Shed for Your Future

The reason I brought health, fitness, and recipes into our blog is to encourage a healthy living style. Of course, you all want to look fabulous in your wedding photos and let's be real, that is the reason most of us try to get in shape for our wedding.

And while that is great, that is the short term. We are not looking at the big picture.

So what happens after the wedding? You look great in your photos and then go back to your normal lifestyle, only to have your kids one day say, "Mommy, that doesn't look like you."

We are encouraging health and fitness not only to look good and feel good on your wedding day, but to create a healthy lifestyle for years to come. I always say it and I am going to say it again...

Your wedding is about your MARRIAGE.

And the healthier you are, the more years you'll get to spend with the love of your life. And on top of that, the more HAPPY years you'll get to spend with the love of your life.

So I am not promoting health and fitness to encourage loosing a couple pounds for your wedding day and then gaining it all back on the honeymoon. I am encouraging it so each and every one of you can start your future together happy, healthy, and looking forward to years and years together.

Looking great in your wedding photos is fun, but a longer lifetime with your best friend is even better!

We're Re-Branding!

Since last November of 2013, we've been bringing inspiration to your wedding day, hoping that we can help you get one step closer to a stress-free wedding day...and a stress-free planning experience.

But on top of the wedding plans (aka your second job), we know that you all have a life outside of the wedding. You have a job, you have a fiance, you have family and friends, and all of that mixed with planning is not easy. And so, we're excited to announce our re-branding!

Limited Time. Limited Funds. The Bridal Lifestyle.

I'm sure you figured it out, but we will now be transforming into a bridal lifestyle blog, offering you tips and inspiration that will help you in all areas of your life!

Don't worry, the wedding planning stuff isn't going anywhere, but we're just adding to it! With your current lifestyle in mind, we will be bringing you nutritious, inexpensive, quick, and easy meal recipes, fitness workouts to help you with your health goals as you begin shedding for the wedding, marriage advice (as we believe that is the core of the wedding day), and of course a ton of new wedding planning contact!

We are so excited to begin this new journey together as we help you make the most of your engagement. We know it can all be very stressful, and we are here to help!

Stay tuned for our countdown to re-launch :)
