When I shot this couple's beautiful San Clemente backyard wedding they wanted desperately to fit in some photos at the beach. The day was way too packed with things to do, huge traffic issues and simply no time, so we were forced to shoot after the honeymoon.
Until they opened that secret envelope after their wedding telling them that they'd be spending ten days in Bali for the honeymoon, they had no idea where they would be flying off to!
This delay in our beach photoshoot turned into a brilliant idea and blessing in disguise. Since then, I have shot several of my couples after a busy and sometimes stressful wedding day, when we can take our time and really get into the shoot. We usually end up at the beach, so it can even become a little of a "trash the dress" shoot and we're not at all worried about getting the dress dirty.
If you notice too, this couple especially playful. I think one big reason is because they were relaxed and in the mood for some fun...a few weeks after wedding day with a fun Bali honeymoon behind them.
I am a floral designer as well, so I whipped up a quick floral crown and little bouquet for this bride to wear during our shoot. These shoots are my favorite because of the relaxed mood and has become a standard option I offer my brides.
