A Sunset Cliffs San Diego Beach Engagement Session

Her version:

“It was mid-October 2010 and I had recently moved to Los Angeles to finish my last two years at college. I made plans one Friday night with a friend I had made at school. She called me and apologized she had to change plans last minute because her cousin (Carlo) was in town and her family was throwing him a surprise birthday party. She told me I should come and celebrate with them. I didn’t want to impose since it was a family that I didn’t know so I declined. She insisted I come, so I told her to call me after their family dinner and I might come by to say hi. Later in the evening she called me and told me to come over. I met a lot of nice people, only understood about 10% of the conversations, laughed a lot, and then heard that everyone was going dancing next. I sat on the couch next to my friend when one of the guys, Junior (a close friend of Carlo), sat next to me and asked if I was going to go out with them to Club Hola. Not so sure, but since I do love to dance and my friend and everyone else was going.... I ended up going and danced the entire night with the Junior. Sometime during the evening a movie date for the next night was asked and accepted. Who got who’s number first, I don’t remember exactly ;) Now six and a half years later, two trips to South America, trying and failing and trying again to learn how to speak spanish, raising the best puppy ever, running five marathons together (sweat and tears included), countless kisses, a proposal, and here we are, our story continues… “

His version:

“On October 15, 2010, I went to Carlo’s, my good friend, birthday party. I met Carlo during high school and we had a great group of friends so I was not going to miss his birthday. I don’t remember anything specific about the party besides meeting Lindsay. I wish I knew how things would turn out more than six years later so that I could have paid more attention to the details that day. I do remember trying to convince Lindsay to come and dance with us. Not being an avid dancer made my argument a little weaker but she decided to come anyways.. We did dance the whole night and I have to admit that it was the most I have ever danced in my life. If I knew what destiny had in store for us then I would have kept dancing until the next morning. The next day we went to watch a movie and here we are, almost seven years later. Since then we were very fortunate to have been able to travel, eat, run, swim, get Mango, laugh, and eat some more. Sometimes I wish I could go back and change a few details but I’m very happy the way things turned out. From now on we have the rest of our lives to try and remember more details and create new stories and adventures. On October 15, 2010 I was blessed to have met the kindest, most considerate, and beautiful woman I had ever met. The only tragedy that day is that I did not know any of this. Eventually I realized that she was all that and more; I also realized that I had met the love of my life that very same day.”
