5 DIY Beauty Tips for Glowing Wedding-Ready Skin

1. Dry Body Brushing

Once you start dry body brushing you really can’t stop! After about a week you will be hooked, and start to feel the benefits, which include increased energy, improved digestion, reduced cellulite and of course, glowing skin.

You start brushing at your feet moving upwards in circular motions towards your heart. Don’t be scared to brush vigorously - it's okay if you get a little red! Brush every part of your body, the butt, hips, stomach, and around the breasts. Follow with a nice warm shower to wash away any dead skin!

Dry body brushing works by stimulating your body’s lymphatic system and helping it to work more efficiently. It is responsible for clearing out toxins and built up fluid so giving it a little help will benefit you greatly.

I recommend doing it every morning before you shower for a great wake up call!

2. Homemade Body Scrub

With a coconut oil base to moisturize and nourish the skin, add in some fine brown sugar, raw honey and raw cacao powder. Warning: You may want to eat this ;) It is especially nice to do after your dry body brushing as it contains antibacterial, antioxidants and antimicrobials that will clean left over dead skin and leave you moisturized too! Use scrub in the shower on your wet body and scrub vigorously. Leave it for few minutes then wash off (after your shower gently dab yourself dry to retain the moisture!).

• 1 cup coconut oil
• ½ cup brown sugar
• ½ cup raw honey
• ¼ cup raw cacao
• You can play around with the sugar portion to create a consistency that is most comfortable for you and your skin!

3. Homemade Face Mask

Again we're using coconut oil, raw honey and natural yogurt with some cinnamon and lemon juice! This mask will not only smell delicious but is packed full of antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that will help clear deep into the pores without drying you out or irritating sensitive skin!

Mix everything well in a bowl and layer on clean un-moisturized skin. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes while you completely indulge in some relaxation, lie down, and light a candle or play peaceful music, orwhatever works best for you to create a relaxing environment! Wash off with warm water and a face cloth. You can follow with light moisturizer or if doing it before bed, leave skin as is.

For an added bonus, place sliced cucumber over eyes to de-puff and soothe!

• 2 tablespoons organic full fat yogurt (cows, sheep’s or goats)
• 1 tablespoon raw honey (the kind that is super thick!)
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice
• 2 teaspoons coconut oil
• Just a few shakes cinnamon

4. Lemon + Water

A huge component of achieving glowing skin is starting from the inside out! Our digestive system can get clogged up which can often lead to clogged skin so a great way to keep it running smoothly is starting every day with 1 lemon (or half if it's too much for you) squeezed in warm water to literally clean your pipes and alkalize you too!

You can also add lemons to your water intake throughout the day as well!

FIY: After drinking this you will definitely be heading to the bathroom pretty quickly!

5. Simple Superfood Smoothie

Smoothies are one of my favorite ways to load up on nutrients in a quick and tasty way - They make a perfect option for breakfast or even a snack!

Try out this recipe in the lead up to your wedding, loaded with antioxidants, healthy fats and fiber!

• Coconut water (enough to achieve the consistency you prefer)
• 1 cup frozen or fresh berries of any kind (the more kinds the better)
• 1 banana
• 1-2 teaspoons raw honey
• 2 teaspoons raw cacao powder (also use this for body scrub!)
• 2 teaspoons LSA mix or ground flaxseed
• 1 teaspoon chia seeds
